Ogle County, Illinois / Coronavirus Response Fund Grants
Rochelle, IL, June 24, 2020– Selected to distribute $100,000.00 from the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund (ilcovidresponsefund.org), The Rochelle Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce grant awards to nonprofit organizations across Ogle County assisting those affected by the social and economic implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Intended to quickly respond to basic needs such as emergency food and supplies, housing and emergency shelter, health and mental health care services, short term rent, mortgage and utility assistance with a focus on vulnerable populations, the Rochelle Area Community Foundation approved $100,000.00 in grants to thirteen local organizations.
“Local nonprofit organizations made a very collaborative effort in applying for the funds to ensure a broad cross section of the County was served by the grant”, said Kim Montgomery, Executive Director for the Rochelle Area Community Foundation. “This process reinforced for us the importance of being local and advocating for our communities.”
Beyond the grant from the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund, the Rochelle Area Community Foundation continues our commitment to support local nonprofit organizations providing vital services to the community in light of COVID-19.
